What we do when we are supposed to be sleeping at night...

Do you notice the traces of marker still left on his face from earlier that day!?!?

Now that Swee'Pea is out of the crib (sniff, sniff) and in a "big boy bed," it is harder to keep him from, well, becoming "adventerous" when he is supposed to be napping. I try to avoid from going into his room and putting him back into his bed unless he actually comes out of the room and tries to escape from nap or bedtime. For the most part, he stays in bed and talks to his animals or looks at a book. Occasionally he does try to sneak out of his room when I'm not looking, but most often resorts to just peaking out a cracked door. Apparently his latest game is to climb to the top (yes, the top) shelf of his closet in order to dig through mommy's craft box in order to raid over-abundant supply of markers and crayons and stickers.

Great.

Most night he stays in his bed... but there are have been nights when we find him passed out on the floor by his bed... or the door.

Of course, before putting him back in his bed, mommy must take a picture, right???

  1. ugh, he is so painfully adorable. i have the strangest urge to squeeze something when i see his pictures :) at least he didn't go into the closet to find baby powder and proceed to sprinkle the entire jumbo bottle about the room... yeah, that's what i used to do when i was supposed to be napping.

  3. Isn't it hard to be made with they are so completely adorable? He is such a cutie! Emily was supposed to be in bed taking nap, and when i checked on her she WAS asleep... but there were scissors on her bed. She had cut herself some bangs, and cut her dress, which she "repaired" with scotch tape.

    Oh well. :)

  4. I'm glad to know my son isn't the only one that colors himself with marker. A couple of weeks ago when he was supposed to be napping, he came out of his room and yelled, "Good morning mommy!" I looked at him and his legs and hands were covered entirely in blue marker.

  6. OMG he is adorable. I knew he was a climber but the climbing to the top of the closet is just scarey! Note to self: Put locks on closet doors so Swee Pea doesn't get into things he shouldn't have.

    What a cutie.

  7. ahh, he is so cute!! Such a little mischief-maker, but SO CUTE :)

I remember all too well the days of trying to get kids to STAY IN BED. much easier said than done. Once Annabelle (who naps in our room) dumped out ALL my containers of makeup all over our bathroom floor when I blissfully thought she was asleep. Oi!
